What is and who is Trabakula?
Trabakula is Adriatic coastal sailboat rounded bow and stern, up to 30 m long, 5 to 6 m wide, with a gully about 2 m.
The Italians call him a Trabaccolo.
The name comes from the word trabacca, which means tent, which in turn recalls the vessel's sails.
Typically a Trabakula would have a crew of 10 to 20 sailors.
Once upon a time the Trabakul was the backbone of Adriatic coastal navigation, and today it is increasingly being re-used for tourist purposes.
